Top efficiency. printnet implements the best-possible production method. Production structures become more streamlined and flexible, costs are sustainably cut, capacities are optimally planned on a decentralized and central basis, and production transparency is increased.
Extensive automation. manroland paves the way to full automation with PECOM and the printnet PressManager. PECOM’s press-oriented automation encompasses electronics, electrics, mechanics, and software components. The printnet PressManager is a preparatory and control system for all units, web leads, and monitoring devices involved in the printing process. The high level of development is achieved through mechatronic function committees where specialists define the requirements to be met by new functions.
Industrial printing production. printnet prepares efficient production early, i.e. in the planning phase. With jobplan, the planning information is optimized for overall production, coordinated, and forwarded to all units, presses, and resources. jobplan is complemented by the printnet PressManager system for press presetting which ensures precise ink zone and press unit presetting. The result of these coordinated processes and components from one source: maximum printing quality, excellent color, as well as reduced makeready times and waste.
Automatic controlling. printnet Monitor is the tool for analysis and evaluation. The system automatically determines potential for optimization by constantly analyzing all worksteps and offers the option to compare sites, presses, jobs, and shifts in relation to production scope. Complementing this, the DataCollect shopfloor data collection system determines relevant technical and operational information for controlling.

Quality must be achieved quickly in order to minimize production times and waste, and it must remain constant to be convincing for long runs. Moreover, quality must be flawless to avoid complaints. ClosedLoop control systems. With ClosedLoop control systems, several quality-relevant items can be automatically and directly controlled in the press. This includes:
- Register control with ColorRegisterControl
- InlineDensityControl for assuring consistently high quality
- CutControl for automatic cut-off register control
Reliable operation. Easy and reliable handling of all systems is key to attaining maximum quality. The PECOM ConsoleSystem enables operator-friendly control. manroland’s compatibility of press, control console, computer, and networking is especially unique.
Quick ink presetting. The patented QuickStart process enables automatic pre-inking during press start-up. The desired printing quality is thus quickly attained and start-up waste is minimized.
Standard data formats. Systematic use of standard data formats such as PPF and JDF/JMF makes it possible to implement highly diverse system connections while maintaining a consistently high quality level.

printnet communicates perfectly with all printing systems. The printnet system architecture enables problem-free integration of external systems. After all, we just want you to use printnet for one purpose: to improve quality and efficiency.

Connection to external systems. With jobplan, external systems, such as prepress and finishing systems as well as presses from other manufacturers, can be connected via JDF/JMF. Connection of different line of business and financial systems is also possible via JDF or any other interface.
Platform-independent work. Planning and monitoring are JAVA applications and can thus be simply opened in the browser of any computer and operating system, independent of the platform.
Modular system. With printnet you can quickly implement the workflow that suits you best. You can select exactly the modules that you want to use, e.g. for printing process planning or monitoring of the entire production.
Reel DataManagement. Today, an automated material flow including optimized logistics, supply, and management is key for producing efficiently. That is why manroland has developed usable modules to complement printnet in the AUROSYS and PECOM environment – for example, to optimally synchronize reel handling with the printing process.
