printnet newspaper printing systems
Publishing-prepressprint-print-finishing.
From the publishing house to finishing, all worksteps are bundled into one word: printnet. Not only does it sound good but it also saves a lot of time and money and improves quality. printnet equips you with a clear-cut workflow for the challenges of the future. This includes automated monitoring covering all areas of operation as well as step-by-step development to full automation.

Top efficiency. printnet implements the best-possible production method. Production structures become more streamlined and flexible, costs are sustainably cut, capacities are optimally planned on a decentralized and central basis, and production transparency is increased.
Extensive automation. manroland paves the way to full automation with PECOM and the printnet PressManager. PECOM’s press-oriented automation encompasses electronics, electrics, mechanics, and software components. The printnet PressManager is a preparatory and control system for all units, web leads, and monitoring devices involved in the printing process. The high level of development is achieved through mechatronic function committees, where specialists define the requirements to be met by new functions.
Industrial printing production. Production planning and control systems are the basis of industrial newspaper production. With jobplan, the planning information is optimized for overall production, coordinated, and forwarded to all units, presses, and resources. jobplan is complemented by the printnet PressManager system for press presetting, which ensures precise ink zone and press unit presetting. The result of these coordinated processes and components from one source: maximum printing quality, excellent color, as well as reduced makeready times and waste.
Automatic controlling. printnet Monitor is the tool for analysis and evaluation. The system automatically determines potential for optimization by constantly analyzing all worksteps and offers the option to compare sites, presses, jobs, and shifts in relation to the production scope. Complementing this, the DataCollect shopfloor data collection system determines relevant technical and operational information for controlling.
The most valuable paper is the one you leave out.
Paper represents a high share of a newspaper’s costs. Achieving the desired printing quality faster also means effectively cutting costs. By using printnet, you make every start-up a dream performance. Get on board with QuickStart.

Automatic pre-inking. The QuickStart system for press start-up and pre-inking directs and controls the complex process of press acceleration and deceleration via optimized sequences in order to reduce ink waste. These functions include conditioning the inking unit and pre-inking the printing parts.
True-color soft proof. Digital soft proofs save a lot of paper, time and money. PressProof TC is the true-color simulation of printing results on a monitor – directly on the control console of the press. In contrast to many other systems, PressProof TC offers a closed control circuit, thus achieving maximum automation, uncompromising speed, and quality.
Reliable operation. Easy and reliable handling of all systems is key to attaining maximum quality. The PECOM ConsoleSystem enables operator-friendly control. manroland’s compatibility of press, control console, computer, and networking is especially unique. Groundbreaking ClosedLoop control systems make it easier to keep the printing process at a consistent high level of quality.
Virtual training. The PECOM simulation control console can be compared to a flight simulator. Even while the press is still being installed, it is possible to virtually train with it. This saves paper and other operating materials and allows you to practice different task settings.
100 percent manroland. For maximum reliability, manroland offers you everything from one source: hardware, software, and process expertise. Your contact partner is also always there for you: manroland’s TeleSupportCenter (TSC).
What everybody’s talking about: long since a matter of course for printnet.
While others are still discussing the future perspectives of heatset and coldset production, printnet is already at work. With printnet, conventional newspaper workflow can also be used for heatset production – including imposition and all other functions. You can take our word for it: printnet.

Heatset-coldset production. More and more newspaper companies take advantage of opportunities to boost press utilization with commercial jobs. printnet plans and controls saleable production periods at the press and in prepress. printnet Output Management (OM) and Job- Entry allow imposition for commercials printed on newspaper presses to be performed in the prepress stage. printnet jobplan and jobstart also make it possible to determine in the offer phase whether the right printing tower will be available (with or without dryer) at the desired time.
Platform-independent work. Planning and monitoring are JAVA applications and can thus be opened in any browser, independent of the computer platform.
Modular system. With printnet, you can quickly implement the workflow that suits you best. You can select exactly the module that you want to use, e.g. for printing process planning or monitoring of the entire production.
Individual prepress workflow. The printnet OM lets users produce an optimized prepress workflow that is customized to the company’s specific needs, including OPI, RIP, proof, merge, and exposure. Every workstep can be assigned to any desired production site where they are performed fully automatically without manual intervention.
Intelligent material control. To optimally synchronize reel handling with the printing process, manroland has developed individually usable modules to complement printnet in the AUROSYS and PECOM environment. For example, individual paper reel data can be taken over via a barcode scanner at the Reel DataTerminal, where it is transferred to AUROload and the printnet PressManager.
