The Last of the Mohicans
He is one of the last manroland people at drupa. While most of the others pack their bags and after two weeks return to their workplaces in Augsburg, Offenbach, Plauen, Mainhausen or Vienna, Chicago and Moscow the job continues in Düsseldorf for Volker Klein.
The event manager is in charge of the dismantling works on the show. They’ll take 14 days which is one week less than the erection which Klein also helped planning and took care of. Now it is all about loading things correctly, sending them back to where they came from and handing over the rented space in a proper state. Klein turns his special attention to the technical equipment. The highly-priced devices may not get lost and must reach home in perfect shape. Eventually, the finish will be going through all the material, send it back to the right place or sort out what can be thrown away.

You have to be born for a job like Klein’s. He is asked all kind of questions every day such as “where can I get my socks washed”, “can you please change the ceiling lighting in the hall”, “do you have a network cable for me”. The 29-year-old solves all problems right away. “Self-organization, improvisation and a good team support are what it’s all about in my job,” he emphasizes. For Klein drupa will end on 26 June. What’s first when coming home after six weeks on a trade show? “I’ll do my laundry, lie down on the sofa and won’t speak a single word at all,” tells the pleasant event manager. Enlarge view |
We Are Printing Press!
![]() |
When we got to know MAN Roland a year ago we were thinking of 30-ton trucks. Today, after 21 brochures, a new Corporate Design as well as numerous 3 D animations, adverts and a new Corporate film, we know that printing presses are heavier. Let's put it that way: we are printing press. We are manroland. We are proud of what we have achieved together with manroland until drupa 2008. Your Springer & Jacoby team |
drupa is magic

Although drupa 2008 is coming to an end today there are still a lot of visitors. For manroland the show was a great success. The printing press manufacturer sums it up: “drupa is magic”. Enlarge view |
Everything Will Be Fine

“Everything will be fine” was manroland’s motto during the last weeks and months for the drupa and the rebranding projects whenever the stress level was extremely high once again. It was even finer. Thanks to all of you for welcoming and accepting our new manroland so well. Enlarge view |
Goodbye, drupa!
It was great. Now the bags are packed. The team is going home. We are looking back to 14 and more unforgettable exhibition days. Very often it was strenuous and heavy-going, but after all it was just great fun. We are looking forward already to 3 May 2012 when the motto will again be “Welcome to drupa-City” and “Happy drupa”.
